ULI TAP Focuses on Davie

In August, the District Council convened a Technical Assistance Panel for the Town of Davie CRA focused on strategies to create a new downtown centerpiece on a 3 acre of Town-owned site next to the Bergeron Rodeo Arena and the current Town Hall. Uptown Urban Village – Latest ULI TAP

The District Council recently presented the Fort Lauderdale City Commission with a two-day Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) report on how to reconfigure a job and transit-rich corridor along the Cypress Creek/I-95 area into a walkable, livable neighborhood. The study was requested by the City of Fort Lauderdale, and funded in part by the ULI Foundation. The panel explored ways to make the area more pedestrian and bike-friendly, as well as insert multi-family housing into the corridor. TAP Focuses on Miami’s 79th Street Corridor

Coral Springs Technical Assistance Panel

In May, the District Council analyzed issues surrounding the creation of a ‘downtown Coral Springs’ and relocation of City Hall.  The final report was presented to the City Commission by TAP Co-Chairs Chuck DeSanti of Kitson & Partners and Ken Tuma of Urban Design Kilday Studios on July 17th at a city workshop. District Council Holds TAP for Hallandale Beach CRA

In early November, the District Council organized and held a day and a half Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) for the Hallandale Beach CRA to assist their efforts to spur redevelopment along the Foster Park corridor in NW Hallandale Beach.  Focused on a 2.5 acre site owned by the CRA and contiguous to additional 1.5 acre privately owned site that asked to be included in the proposal, the panelists recommended that the CRA consider encouraging mid-rise work/live and neighborhood commercial redevelopment as a possible use, but also urged the CRA to … Read More
