TAP’s - THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM |
Vice Chair, James R. Brindell, Esq.
Partner, Gunster Yoakley & Stewart, P.A.
561-650-0511
jbrindell@gunster.com
TAPs are a 1-2 day session in which a local government or
non-profit organization asks the District Council to provide
advice on a specific land use issue. The sponsoring
organization develops three or four well-defined questions
that it would like the panel to address and the scope of the
assignment is such that the panel can adequately address the
issues in the 1-day session. Prior to the panel convening, the
sponsor prepares and distributes briefing materials to the
panelists.
For purposes of clarity and to avoid confusion with the
“national” Advisory Services Program, district council panels
are called Technical Assistance Programs or TAPs. TAPs do a
variety of things.
• They provide the members of the District Council an avenue
for being involved in ULI and giving back to their community.
• They provide a means for District Councils to be more
involved in their local communities.
• They provide local communities access to expertise and
advice that they may not be able to obtain through any other
means. |
