The Urban Land Institute, through its ULI Southeast
Florida/Caribbean District Council, offers this
program of local and international speakers to
explore the challenges and successful strategies
used across the world to reach consensus on land use
and how they might be applied in Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico’s extreme density – 1,000 people per
square mile – make it one of the most densely
populated islands in the world. With 78
municipalities, mostly coastal cities ringing a
mountainous center, it is home to four million
people. Land use planning for Puerto Rico’s future
is critical to its economic and environmental
future.
Presenting outstanding speakers such as ULI’s own
Senior Resident Fellow The Honorable Bill Hudnut (a
prominent elected official in Maryland), The
Honorable Angel David Rodriquez (President of the
Puerto Rico Planning Council), Banco Popular of
Puerto Rico's President, David Chafey, Harvard
University’s Jerold Kayden and Michael Buckley of
Columbia University, experts will discuss pressing
issues and next steps in addressing Puerto Rico’s
land planning needs.
Join us to be part of this important discussion,
hosted at the new Puerto Rico Convention Center.
