ULI
Executive Vice President Maureen McAvey will present
the Urban Land Institute’s Infrastructure 2008, just
published in cooperation with Ernst & Young. This
insightful report looks at infrastructure in the
United States as well as Western Europe, Asia, North
America and the fast-growing urban regions of China
and United Arab Emirates. Where do we stack up on
infrastructure spending and need? Domestically, ULI
commissioned research on 23 metropolitan areas --
including Miami -- to determine whether their
long-range plans are capable of accommodating the
large population increases expected over the next 30
years, with several patterns emerging.
The Infrastructure 2008 road-show and report
couldn’t be more timely, as the renewal of our
nation’s $400 billion dollar transportation bill
will be debated over the next year and voted on in
Congress in 2009. As most ULI members will tell you,
development dollars follow infrastructure dollars.
Thus, how these billions are spent will have a
significant impact on the country and our regions.
All attendees will receive a copy of the newly
released ULI publication, Infrastructure 2008. (A
$39.95 Value)
