a privilege of full membership.

4. Learn about the latest
projects and prospects in Urban Land
When you join, you will receive ULI’s member-only
magazine, Urban Land. Every issue is filled with in-depth market
profiles, project case studies, financing options and strategies.
Special issues focus on industry trends in housing, entertainment,
office and industrial, transportation, and planning.
5. Identify best policy and
practice
ULI neither lobbies nor acts as an advocate for
any single profession or industry. Known for objective, nonpartisan
research, ULI convenes forums to exchange ideas and information on
relevant issues such as crime, takings, brownfields, greenfields,
and growth in the Rockies. Proceedings are published as working
papers and are the basis for continuing research.
6. Apply for admission to a ULI
Council
Some 2,400 full member industry leaders are
actively involved in the Urban Land Institute through participation
on one of 43 councils which cover more than a dozen real estate
sectors. Approximately 50 individuals serve on each council and are
appointed to one-year terms with reappointment for up to five
consecutive terms. Councils convene at ULI Fall and Spring meetings.

As a benefit of membership, you will also receive
an annual research report on the forces shaping the industry in the

Conferences are held at ULI Spring and Fall meetings, as well as at

Upon request, ULI will form a panel of real estate
professionals to visit a community, study its problems and issues,
and recommend solutions. Sponsor an Advisory Services Panel in your
community or register to serve on one.
14. Contribute your expertise
The real strength of ULI is its diverse, expert
membership. ULI relies on members as reviewers, authors, speakers,
advisers, leaders. Individuals willing to make an extraordinary
commitment of time and financial support apply for the more senior
full member status; most participate as associate members.

Membership Option
More than 20% of ULI's 25,000 members work in the public
sector-government, university, or nonprofit organization. Dues
for public sector members are significantly less than dues for
those working in the private sector. Special group discounts
also apply.

Young Leader Membership
ULI encourages new professionals to become part the Institute
early in their career so they can begin building key
relationships with industry leaders. To make this an easy first
step, ULI offers a special membership category for people under
35. Those applying for Young Leaders membership must reside in
the U.S. and provide proof of age when submitting an
application.
