Five development projects in Miami-Dade have been named as finalists for the Urban Land Institute Southeast Florida/Caribbean’s 2017 Vision Awards Project of the Year. Now in its eleventh year, ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean’s annual awards event recognizes the region’s top real estate development and redevelopment projects. This year’s competition drew a competitive pool of submissions ranging from South Miami to West Palm Beach.
“ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean is proud to continue leading the way in our region by promoting thoughtful and innovative development and showcasing projects that create long-lasting positive change in our communities,” said ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean Executive Director Julie Medley. “Each of this year’s finalists displayed a unique approach to development and have had a transformative impact on their surrounding community. We congratulate all of them on their achievement and thank them for their commitment to our region and dedication to advancing our industry.”
Finalists and winners were selected by a jury of ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean members representing major sectors of the real estate industry. Project nominations were open to public, private, and nonprofit development and redevelopment projects within the ULI district.
The jury evaluated nominees based on innovation, leadership, design, social impact, resiliency, market success, and each project’s contribution to its surrounding community. This year’s finalists include four projects in Miami and one in Coral Gables. The five finalists will be honored and the winning project announced at the September 7th ceremony, which will be held for the seventh consecutive year at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami.
