2013 Young Leader of the Year: Vanessa Grout
Vanessa Grout, CEO for Douglas Elliman Florida, has been named ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean's 2013 Young Leader of the Year
In 2013, ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean provided recommendations to the City of Coral Springs on the creation of a ‘downtown Coral Springs’ and the relocation of City Hall.
The final report was presented to the City Commission by TAP Co-Chairs Chuck DeSanti of Kitson & Partners and Ken Tuma of Urban Design Kilday Studios on July 17th at a city workshop.

The City of Coral Springs CRA convened the TAP to discuss and give advice on a set of issues related to the redevelopment of the 28-acre southwest quadrant of Sample Road and University Drive intersection (top image to the right), specifically a 5.76-acre site (illustrated on the next page) that is composed of City Hall South and a CRA-owned parcel purchased in 2007. That is currently the proposed site for a new City Hall/City Center complex.
After evaluating four potential sites for the new City Hall, the TAP recommended that the new city hall complex be built on the City Hall South Sire and adjacent CRA-owned land. The TAP emphasized that this should be the first public project undertaken in creating Downtown Coral Springs, and recommended that the city leverage public investment and private development to create the sense of place desired by residents.
