    Speakers

    David Cummings

    Vice President and Head of Real Estate and Project Finance, Syngus Group

    David Cummings is an accomplished leader who brings an unmatched depth of experience and expertise in project management, negotiations, risk management, operations, administration, finance and logistics. Prior to joining Sygnus, David served with the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) for 33 years where he held impressive leadership roles including Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, Colonel General Staff and Colonel Adjutant Quartermaster. He retired at the rank of Brigadier General, and during his tenure he created and successfully implemented multiple projects valued at over US$300 million spanning construction, infrastructure, maritime, information systems and aviation. As Vice President and Head of Real Estate and Project Finance, David is charged with providing leadership and development/project management of Sygnus Real Estate Finance Ltd. (SRF). No stranger to high-level negotiations and risk management, David is astute at leading and developing high-performing teams for complex organizations and projects. David has also served as a Board Member and the Chairman of Audit, ICT and Security Committees for the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) for seven years. He is a recipient of the Order of Distinction in the 2016 National Honours and Award for outstanding service to the Jamaica Defence Force. He is a possesses a Bachelor of Engineering (Cranfield), a Master of Military Arts & Sciences (USCGSC) and a Master of Business Administration (Cranfield).

    Isabel de Caires

    Director, Investment Banking, CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank

    Isabel is a Director in Investment Banking at CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank. She is responsible for regional Caribbean coverage of the Bank’s top-tier corporate and sovereign clients and providing relationship and transaction support on a wide range of financing mandates. Since joining CIBC FirstCaribbean in 2010, Isabel has led a variety of syndicated and bilateral infrastructure and project finance transactions for both public and private sector clients. She has had a diversified financial services career spanning 17 years, having worked for both PwC and EY prior to joining CIBC FirstCaribbean. She holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Miami and is a qualified chartered accountant.

    Heath Melton

    Chief Development Officer, Juniper Capital – Moncayo

    Heath Melton is Chief Development Officer for Juniper Capital – Moncayo (“Moncayo”). Mr. Melton oversees the planning, design, and development of Moncayo, a new luxury planned community on Puerto Rico’s eastern coast, set to redefine upscale living with its forward-thinking design and integration of sustainable practices. Moncayo spans 1,100 acres of pristine land and aims to blend luxury residential living with a focus on wellness, education, and sustainability. This visionary project will offer a world-class golf course designed by Martin Ebert, Auberge branded resort, villas, and condos, single family residences, mixed use town center & entertainment district and an operating farm. Prior to joining Moncayo, Mr. Melton was a senior leader with Howard Hughes Holdings (HHH) and lead the development of Teravalis, 37,000-acre master planned community (MPC) as president of the Phoenix region. As planned, Teravalis offers 100,000 homes, 300,000 residents, and 55 million square feet of commercial development. Mr. Melton was also responsible for residential planning and development of HHH's three highly acclaimed MPCs in Texas: The Woodlands®, Bridgeland® and The Woodlands Hills®. The Woodlands was recently recognized as the country's #1 place to live by Niche.com. Under Mr. Melton's tenure, Bridgeland ascended to top-selling master planned community in Texas and #5 in the nation, honored as Master Planned Community of the Year by the Greater Houston Business Association and has garnered Howard Hughes the inaugural 2020 Vanguard Award from Houston's Urban Land institute (ULI) for the development of Bridgeland's 140-acre recreational Josey Lake which integrates innovative design into the natural landscape and serves as a sustainable stormwater detention system. In addition, The Woodlands Hills, which opened in 2018, received recognition for its high standards of development and outstanding sales momentum. Mr. Melton’s career also includes leading an MPC for Taylor Morrison in Austin, TX as general manager, multi-family experience with Sueba USA in Houston TX, and various roles with KB Home in Houston. Mr. Melton is a decorated Army Veteran and a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point.

    Adam Greenfader

    Principal, AG & T

    Adam Greenfader is a Chairman of AG&T, a real estate development and advisory firm based in Miami, Florida. AG&T specializes in hospitality, residential, and commercial developments the Caribbean, Central America, and Florida. AG&T’s principal clients include hedge funds, private equity and other institutional capital groups. Adam has worked on over 55 developments valued over $1.5 billion dollars. The projects include master planned communities, hotels, and private island resorts. Recent projects located in Puerto Rico, Sint Maarten, Jamaica, Panama, and Costa Rica. Mr. Greenfader currently chairs the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Caribbean Council and is the Florida Liaison for the Puerto Rico Builders Association. Adam is passionate about resiliency, green building and the use of blockchain technologies in real estate. He has authored multiple white papers and has recently released a new book called, “Why Puerto Rico Now: a masterplan for resurgence, resiliency, and long-term economic growth.” Adam is frequently invited to speak on such topics as creating sustainable hotels, Puerto Rico investments, Public-Private Partnerships, blockchain, and real estate in the Caribbean. Adam Greenfader holds a Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) degree from the University of Southern California and is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
