To educate and train professionals and community leaders in South Florida about the importance of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) as a tool to promote smart growth and livability. The Academy will also seek to develop a network of TOD practitioners in South Florida, over time.

A collaboration between the Center for Urban and Environmental Solutions at Florida Atlantic University & the Urban Land Institute’s Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council.

 Purpose:

To educate and train professionals and community leaders in South Florida about the importance of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) as a tool to promote smart growth and livability. The Academy will also seek to develop a network of TOD practitioners in South Florida, over time.

Who Should Participate in the Program?

Any individual interested in learning more about TOD and its potential in South Florida. Limited to 25 people!

What is the Format of the Program?

The program will meet for three half-days workshops.  Participants will be exposed to leading local and national experts that focus on TOD. The program will include lectures, panel sessions, walking tours and networking.

  • April 6, 2018, Downtown Fort Lauderdale (9 am – 12:30 pm)
  • April 27, 2018, Downtown West Palm Beach (9 am – 12:30 pm)
  • June 1, 2018, Downtown Miami (9 am – 12:30 pm)
