The study was requested by the City of Fort Lauderdale, and funded in part by the ULI Foundation. The panel looked at ways to make the area more pedestrian and bike-friendly, as well as insert multi-family housing into the corridor. The reported created a blueprint for short, medium and long term land use and development changes for the corridor.
The August 2014 Urban Land Institute Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) report identified strategies in creating a more livable urban village core for the Uptown area. The panel was co-chaired by Chuck DeSanti of DeSanti & Associates and Sam Poole of Berger Singerman.
