    Gregory Haile

    President, Broward College

    Gregory Adam Haile is the seventh president of Broward College. Broward College serves more than 55,000 students with approximately 4,500 colleagues. Since assuming leadership of Broward College, the institution has been repeatedly recognized as one of the top ten (from more than 1000 colleges) community colleges in America by the Aspen Institute, has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as the #1 college in the Southeastern United States for minimizing student loan debt, and the College has been nationally recognized for Broward UP™, a service model expansion that has significantly improved access to post-secondary education and economic mobility for Broward County residents in zip codes with disproportionately high unemployment rates and low education attainment rates. With the Broward UP model, the College has added more than two dozen new education locations (via no-cost facilities partnerships) into the heart of its Broward UP communities. Also under his leadership, Broward College has received largest gift and the largest grant in its history. In January 2023, Haile became the first education leader to serve as deputy Chair of the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank in approximately 70 years and he is the first public college president to ever serve as deputy chair of the Atlanta Fed. In addition, he serves as chair of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, and on the boards of numerous other statewide and national organizations. He is also a member of the Orange Bowl Committee and the Council on Foreign Relations. As an educator, Mr. Haile takes time annually to teach a self-designed 4-credit course in Higher Education Law and Policy at Harvard (Summer School). He has received dozens of recognitions, and he routinely serves as a keynote speaker, often speaking on the transformational power of higher education and the role of post-secondary education in our nation’s economy and in driving economic mobility. Mr. Haile was educated at the Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the National Black Law Journal and as an Editor of the Journal on Gender and Law. He received his bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, where he graduated magna cum laude and received the Most Outstanding Graduate award in his college. He received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Nova Southeastern University.

    Rishi Kapoor

    Location Ventures

    Rishi has spent the last decade focused on residential real estate, primarily in the luxury sector, with a strong background in sales and marketing, prior to focusing on sponsoring development. Upon founding Location Ventures, he set out to create meaningful living experiences in premium locations, centered around four pillars: design, nature, technology and wellness. Today, Location Ventures is a leading real estate developer that excels in uniting unparalleled living with comprehensive investment, development, management, marketing, and sales for residential and mixed-use properties in the South Florida market and beyond. To date, Rishi is responsible for leading the development of a portfolio exceeding $2 billion including: high-end, custom single-family homes; repositioning multi-family properties; and the development of boutique condominiums. Most recently, he completed Villa Valencia – a record-breaking luxury condominium development in Coral Gables – and launched The EDITION Residences Fort Lauderdale, with 65 residences on the intracoastal. He is also the Managing Partner of URBIN, a company he envisioned that is dedicated to co-living, co-working and wellness; and FORUM, an elevated coworking experience with high-touch business services. Always with an eye toward the next frontier of real estate. Rishi will soon launch a branded residential project near the beach in Fort Lauderdale, a city that has become a magnet for new businesses and hospitality, making it one of the attractive places to live in the U.S. Rishi received business degrees in Finance, Marketing and Management from the University of Miami, and is also a non-practicing attorney, having graduated from University of Miami School of Law. He grew up in a real estate family that developed and invested in hotels, single-family homes and offices throughout the Southeast United States and New Delhi, India over the last 40 years, affording him a lifelong industry mindset.

    Dev Motwani

    President, Merrimac Ventures

    Dev Motwani serves as President and CEO of Merrimac Ventures, a Fort Lauderdale based real estate firm that focuses on value-add investment and development opportunities. Property types owned and operated include hotels, condos, retail, office and rental apartments primarily in South Florida but also throughout the United States. Dev is also Founder and Managing Partner of Ramesh Properties, a distressed real estate investment fund focused on opportunistic investments in residential and commercial development sites throughout South Florida. He currently oversees nearly $750 million in development projects. Current projects include the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences, The Gale Boutique Hotel and Residences, as well as Las Olas Riverfront, all in the Fort Lauderdale area. Dev is Founder and Managing Partner of Chieftain Residential, a yield-oriented distressed residential fund purchasing single-family homes, and residential land, primarily in the Southeast US and Texas. The fund aims to balance current income opportunities through the rental markets for its single-family home inventory, while also targeting capital appreciation in single family homes and land as the US Residential Market continues to rebound. Prior to his current role, Dev worked at Credit Suisse in New York City, where he first structured OTC Equity Derivative trades for the firm’s largest corporate clients and then for the firm’s largest hedge fund clients. Before that, he worked in the White House and on the 2000 Gore/Lieberman Presidential Campaign. Dev plays an active role in the South Florida Community, through his involvement with numerous charities and business organizations, currently serving on the board of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts Foundation, Fort Lauderdale’s Economic Development Advisory Board, and the Downtown Council. He was recently appointed to the Orange Bowl Host Committee. He previously served on the boards of the Riverwalk Trust, Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, and Broward County’s Small Business Advisory Board. Dev has served as Co-Chair for the Bonnet House’s Annual Impressions Fundraiser, the Ghost Light Society’s Annual Soiree, and the Jeb Bush Classic Beach Bash benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This year the Motwani family co-founded the Laughing Out Loud fundraiser benefitting the Scleroderma Foundation, which raised over $170,000 for the charity. Dev graduated from Duke University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics and Public Policy and from Columbia University’s Masters of Science in Real Estate Development Program. He has also studied at the London School of Economics.

    Chief Legal and Human Resources Officer, West Marine

    Paulee is the Chief Legal and Human Resources Officer at West Marine, Inc. Paulee has over 19 years of experience as a Chief Legal Officer, 15 of those with MarineMax, the nation’s largest boat retailer. During her tenure at MarineMax, she helped the company more than double in size. She has been recognized as a “Woman Making Waves” by Boating Industry Magazine and named Top Corporate Counsel by the Tampa Bay Business Journal in 2017 and again in 2022. Paulee describes herself as a business leader who leverages her knowledge of the law to serve as a key business partner in managing legal affairs. Aside from building and establishing in-house legal functions, she has proactively worked to find opportunities to advance overall business results. Her initiatives have led to improved risk management, oversight of Human Resources, and at her most recent role at e-TeleQuote Insurance, a Primerica company, the development and implementation of a culture initiative that enhanced employee engagement and corporate social responsibility. Paulee is a magna cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University where she attained her Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degrees and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Societies. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Indiana University where she attained her Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) degree. She is a member of the Florida Bar. Paulee has a lifelong love of boating and water sports that she enjoys with her family.

Dan Teixeira is versed in multiple languages with a wide global reach that extends to clients in Europe, Asia, Central, and South America. His expertise is recognized by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, The Real Deal, and the South Florida Business Journal. In 2019, Dan Teixeira was the recipient by voters of his peers to the highest award, “Overall Industry MVP” by Miami Agent Magazine. Dan Teixeira resides in Fort Lauderdale’s Las Olas Middle River, holds a dual Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Business Administration from the University of South Florida, and serves as President of Harbor House, and currently on the boards of Central Beach Alliance and Sunrise Intracoastal associations.     Michael Harrison

    Senior Managing Director, Hines-US

    Mr. Harrison is a senior managing director responsible for the development and/or acquisition of projects and properties in Florida, the Caribbean and other markets located in the Southeastern region of the United States. Since joining Hines in 1990, Mr. Harrison has been involved in the development and acquisition of more than 6.0 million square feet of buildings and the development of more than 4,000 acres of land, totaling more than $1.5 billion. He has been responsible for establishing Hines' presence throughout Florida and the Caribbean with projects and/or offices located in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Orlando, Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Doral, Tampa Marco Island, and St. Lucia. He has also been instrumental in establishing Hines' land development platform throughout the Southeast and the Caribbean. Harrison earned his Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from The Pennsylvania State University and his Master of Science in Real Estate Development degree from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

    Jenni Morejon

    President & CEO, Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority

    Jenni Morejon is the President & CEO of the Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority, a public/private partnership that promotes growth, investment, and improvements in the urban core of Fort Lauderdale (the geographic center of the SE Florida region of six million). At the DDA, Jenni has led efforts to secure funding for a new Federal Courthouse in coordination with the GSA, initiate development of a new joint City/County government campus, and implement capital projects to improve downtown parks, streets, and public places. Prior to the DDA, Jenni served as director for the City of Fort Lauderdale’s development services department during her 16-year tenure with the City. She led a team responsible for urban planning, economic development, housing programs, code compliance and building permits during the post-recession development boom. More than $3 billion of development was under construction, approved or in the planning stages while she led a team of 185 staff with a total budget of $35 million. Jenni sits on the Management Committee for the ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council, served as Chair of the Women’s Leadership Initiative Committee from 2017-2020, and is a member of the Public Private Partnership Gold Product Council. She is on the Board of Directors for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of Leadership Fort Lauderdale and the Women Leading Broward program. Jenni graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Environmental Design.

    Nicholas Perez

    Vice President, The Related Group

    Nicholas Pérez currently serves as a Vice President for The Related Group, involved across all facets of the firm, including the condominium, international development, market-rate rental and affordable housing divisions. His responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operations of various marquee rental and condominium developments throughout South Florida, as well as working alongside senior executives to identify new business opportunities, partnerships, development techniques and more. Projects under Perez’s leadership include the luxury boutique condominium, Solemar in Pompano Beach and the high-end market-rate multifamily community, Regatta at New River in Fort Lauderdale. He also spearheaded the development of a class-A office space in Coconut Grove that serves as Related’s headquarters. Prior to joining Related, Pérez lived in New York and spent eight years establishing his career in real estate development. From 2013 to 2017, he worked with the Related Companies in Manhattan, where he focused on rental and condominium development across a wide spectrum of properties, including 261 Hudson and 15 Hudson Yards. Nicholas received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University and an Executive MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
