2016 Vision Awards
The 2016 Vision Awards ceremony, held on September 22, 2016 at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami honored Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient Stephen Owens, President of Swire Properties as well as the Project of the Year winner, Wynwood Walls and the Young Leader of the Year, Ben Gerber of Related Group.
Celebrating it’s 10th year Anniversary, the event welcomed over 650 industry professionals from throughout the Southeast Florida & Caribbean region.
Stephen Owens – 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree

The 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Stephen Owens, President of Swire Properties. Under Steve’s leadership, Swire has played a central role in the urban development of Miami and South Florida for more than three decades. Steve’s responsibilities with Swire have included some $3 billion in projects throughout the States of Florida, Hawaii, Texas and Hong Kong. The 2016 Young Leader of the Year was awarded to Ben Gerber of Related Group. Since joining Related Group as vice president of finance in 2003, Ben Gerber has been responsible for the restructuring of project and land financing totaling over $1.8 billion and has coordinated the closing of over $2.5 billion in commercial real estate loans. Wynwood Walls – 2016 Project of the Year
The Wynwood Walls is a collection of six privately-owned warehouses, located in the urban core of Miami, whose exterior walls were transformed into an outdoor “Museum of the Streets” by visionary place-maker Tony Goldman. The Walls surround more than 1.5 acres of land, formerly parking lots and junkyards, that now provide multiple areas for the public to enjoy. With more than 30 masterpieces on giant canvases produced by internationally-acclaimed artists from more than 15 countries, it is likely the largest concentrated public display of high quality street art anywhere in the world.
