    Arash Azarbarzin

    Arash Azarbarzin is the President of SH Hotels & Resorts with more than 30 years of industry experience, including as a founding member of sbe Hotel Group, where he served as president for 12 years. He spent several years in leadership roles at W Hotels & Resorts as well as with St. Regis and Four Seasons. His strategic vision, leadership abilities, and operational expertise fueled the growth and productivity of the distinctive hotel destinations under the sbe Hotel Group umbrella. Azarbarzin oversees all operations and expansion for SH Hotels & Resorts.

    Patrick Goddard

    President and Chief Operating Officer, Brightline

    Patrick Goddard is the President of Brightline Trains, soon to be Virgin Trains USA, the first privately owned and operated intercity passenger rail system in over 100 years. Patrick was responsible for the company’s development and construction and bringing this innovative system to market. This includes the development of about 1.5msq of Transit Oriented Development around the system’s stations. He comes from the hospitality industry having worked in hotel development and operations for Hilton Hotels, Loews Hotels and Rosewood Hotels. He also ran a large international Hotel Management Company, Trust Hospitality, for 5 years as its President and Chief Operating Officer prior to joining Brightline in 2016. He has a degree in hospitality management from the Dublin Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's Degree in Strategic Management from Trinity College Dublin.

    Robert Shapiro

    President,

    Robert L. Shapiro is President of Master Development, Inc. which over the last 30 years, has been involved as a partner in many successful retail developments and redevelopments. Mr. Shapiro, in partnership with Terry Salzman, organized Master Development Partners, which is currently in the process of acquiring and developing several retail properties and mixed-use developments in South Florida. Bob and Terry were Joint Venture Partners with Kimco Realty in Dania Pointe, a 2.5 million square foot Planned Mixed-Use Development on I-95 in the greater Fort Lauderdale area. From 2010 to 2014, Mr. Shapiro successfully developed with Regency Centers the 250,000 square foot Fountain Square, a Target, Publix anchored center on Flagler Street and SW 102nd Avenue in Miami. From 2004-2009, Mr. Shapiro acquired and co-developed certain retail properties with Woolbright Development, Inc. The partnership developed and successfully sold several of their assets prior to the 2009 recession. Mr. Shapiro is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, with a J.D. law degree from the University of Connecticut Law School, and an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University. A resident of Miami since 1971, Mr. Shapiro practiced law with the Myers Kenin and Greenberg Traurig law firms until 1981 when he founded his own law firm. Since 1986, Mr. Shapiro has been involved in the acquisition and development of over seven million square feet of retail space in South Florida. Mr. Shapiro has been a panelist regarding retail development at seminars of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Florida Redevelopment Association and the Florida Board of Realtors. In both 2015 and 2016, the South Florida Business Journal recognized Mr. Shapiro as one of the "Top 100 Power Leaders in Real Estate".

    Lesley Deutch

    Managing Principal, John Burns Research and Consulting

    Lesley Deutch is a Principal based in Florida for John Burns Real Estate Consulting. She has more than 25 years of experience consulting with executives in the finance and real estate industries throughout North America. She works across a wide spectrum of industries including apartments, for-sale housing, high-rise development, urban projects, single-family rental, building products and commercial developments. The company is on retainer with executives at many of the largest companies in the industry, producing regular monthly reports on apartment and housing market conditions, and customizing specific studies to help with strategic and community-specific decisions. Previously, Lesley was Vice President in the Global Real Estate division of Deutsche Bank in New York, where she authored reports on real estate and economic conditions in the major U.S. metropolitan areas, and wrote due diligence reports for RREEF (owned by Deutsche Bank) acquisitions across the country. Lesley is an outspoken leader in the real estate industry and her expertise has led to numerous speaking engagements at national and local events on topics ranging from strategic repositioning, real estate forecasts, and demographic trends. Currently, Lesley serves as a member of the Community Development Council (Green) for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) nationally, the Multifamily Development Council for ULI in Florida, and a is a member of the UF Real Estate Advisory Board. Ms. Deutch graduated in 1996 and holds a B.S. from the Wharton School and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

    Greg West

    CEO, ZOM Living

    Greg T. West is the President and Chief Executive Officer of ZOM Living and is responsible for all aspects of the Company with particular focus on development activities nationally. He joined ZOM in 1997 and since been involved with all aspects of the development process including identifying new opportunities, compiling due diligence and underwriting parameters. He is also responsible for project design, permitting, and construction. Mr. West also plays a key role in business development and investor relations. Presently ZOM has under construction 3,700 units in Florida, Texas, Chicago, Carolinas and the Mid-Atlantic. Over the next twelve months the company will start 2,200 additional units bringing active development volume over $1.7 billion dollars. Mr. West received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Southern Methodist University and has received two Masters of Science degrees from Texas A&M University in Land Development and Construction Management. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Multifamily Housing Council, is a board member of the Miami Downtown Development Authority and on the Advisory Board of the University of Miami Master of Construction Management program. Mr. West is the current Chair of the ULI Southeast Florida and Caribbean District Council and is a member of the Gold Multifamily Council.
