Now Accepting Nominations for the 2023 Vision Awards
Nomination period now open for ULI Southeast Florida / Caribbean's annual Vision Awards recognizing excellence in land use and development
It was a busy spring for ULI Southeast Florida / Caribbean! From January through May, members organized and joined over 30 meetings, events, or special programs and initiatives.

Members of the 2023 Leadership Institute – Jan-Erik Hustrulid, Paul Carballo, Jennifer Jaikissoon, Juan Andres Jacobus, and Carli Koshal, during the program’s day on Design & Construction.
This annual event welcomed over 350 attendees to hear from a robust lineup of industry leaders on the state of downtown Fort Lauderdale’s real estate market.
Each year, the Leadership Institute provides pro bono land use and real estate-related consulting services to 4-6 different nonprofit or public sector entities in the South Florida region.
On March 14th, the Women’s Leadership Initiative hosted A Night at the Ellsworth, Cocktail Reception and Development Tour to connect, network, and explore Stiles’ latest residential project in Plantation.
On March 30th, ULI’s Young Leaders Group hosted a 60+ person walking tour. Put together by member Max Zengage, the Delray Beach Development Tour took gave attendees insights into the latest projects in downtown Delray Beach, and ended with a networking reception on the rooftop of the brand-new Artist Alley Tower.
On March 16th, ULI’s Young Leaders Group hosted a committee meeting followed by a networking happy hour on Boca Raton. Hosted by CBRE and TAP 42, the event brought together over 40 attendees.

Members of the 2023 Leadership Institute meet to work on their team’s pro-bono Leadership Project.
On April 12th, the Women’s Leadership Initiative hosted Politically Savvy: Building Relationships that Get the Deal Done. This skill-building event featured insights from industry leaders Mayor Michelle Gomez, Ellen Buckley, Former Mayor Crystal Wagar, and Stephanie Toothaker.
The Young Leaders Group‘s “From the Ground Up” educational event series relaunched in April with a session on the role of law in real estate development. Speakers included Alani Fraga and Edward Baker of the Young Leaders Group, along with Anthony De Yurre and Daniel Goldberg.

On April 26, the Young Leaders’ Group‘s Affordability Solutions committee chairs Brian Jaffe and Jordan Davis presented an in-depth “Housing Affordability 101” presentation to the University of Miami’s Graduate Real Estate Club.
